Take a Hike in Southern California

I’ve recently thrown a very large boul­der in my path to hik­ing and then blog­ging about it. Norma and I have been spend­ing a lot of time over the past weeks try­ing to fig­ure out how to bring more busi­ness into our busi­ness. So…we are writ­ing our own busi­ness blog. We started our first blog just this past sum­mer. Blogs are quite the dif­fer­ent ani­mal. Up until now we have been cre­at­ing stan­dard (sta­tic) web­sites and kind of ignor­ing the blo­gos­phere out there. Not that we dis­liked blogs – we just didn’t know much about cre­at­ing them. One day we got a call and a poten­tial client insisted that she wanted a blog and wanted us to cre­ate it for her. We did a lot of soul search­ing, and Inter­net research, and stum­bled off the band­wagon. We decided to delve deep into the heart of it and have been there ever since.
We titled our new blog Open My New Busi­ness. We thought that with our 21 years expe­ri­ence run­ning our small busi­ness that we could pull together tons of very good and per­ti­nent infor­ma­tion about ‘start­ing a new busi­ness’ into one place. We have spent a lot of time lis­ten­ing to and help­ing many other small busi­nesses. It’s this knowl­edge base that we’ll be draw­ing from. We hope that once vis­i­tors locate our infor­ma­tion, they would find it help­ful and then maybe they would need a logo, or some busi­ness cards – maybe a brochure and/or a web­site, and we would point them to our graphic design busi­ness at Sketch­Pad.

Here’s keep­ing our fin­gers crossed! And to all of you out there who are want­ing to, or are in the process of, start­ing your own busi­ness, a very good luck to you and hop­ing your ven­ture will be as ful­fill­ing as ours has been for us.
